Taking a break

This post is to let my followers know that I will be having a break from papercraft. I have been receiving nasty messages through social media in relation to my work and as a result of this I am quite discouraged and will be having an extended break. I hope in the future I will create again and post on my blog.

Thank you to my followers and I hope your creative journeys continue.

Scrapmatts July

July is almost half way through  but there has been some awesome projects so
far from the scrapmatts design team
My july post has rolled around so fast and I have done two very different projects.

I have made a card for the first project and it has very vintage style.
I love the colours and the scrapmatts chip board have made great accent points.

The second project is an up cycled tube that I have turned into a storage for my paint brushes.

Did you know that scrapmatts chipboard is so versatile that you can adhere it
to a curved surface. This makes a great technique for adding texture to a more unusual shape.

Graphic 45 Ambassador 2016 : Enchanted Forest Shield

Well I have finally got the time to blog and it will catch month this July. I have a few Graphic 45 projects to share over the next few days.

Firstly let get the best part done.
If you are not aware I have been made a Graphic 45 Ambassador.Click the link to go to the graphic 45 blog and check out my post and other awesome inspiration.

I thought I would also share my projects here as well.

Enchanted forest Shield

How many crafters have a multitude of photos on the computer. I have a box with lots of printed ones as well. I found a collection of photos of my son jacob and I wanted a display where I could change the picture from time to time. So made a slide frame and mounted the photos in pairs and of course there had to be a box on there somewhere. I also decided to try the same project with a few spare wedding photos. I really love the way every Graphic 45 collection can be used for my projects even if am replicating the same design.

Tip: Layer fussy cut images from the Graphic 45 papers vertically to create dimension and depth. Ensure there is a slight overlap to create uniformity of the images.

Steampunk with Scrapmatts and Graphic 45

Steampunk, a word that many not have heard and if you have this style can take many forms.
It can be very quirky and definitely has and industrial feel to it.
These projects have a touch of steampunk and incorporate one
of my all-time favourite embellishments. I love to put cogs and gears on lots of projects.

This projects used Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Deluxe Collectors edition. This collection is one of my favourites and I am thankful Graphic 45 re released it.
I worked so well with the chipboard embellishments I used. The colours
are awesome in these papers.

Scrapmatts Packs used :

CB1072 Gears 01
CB1078 Gears 05
CB1233 Film Strips 06
CB5127 Diamond Mesh 03

This Project used One of the newer Graphic 45 collections called Voyage Beneath the Sea.
It combines a little steampunk with beautiful ocean themed vintage images.
It has a lovely  coordinated colour pallette and plenty of fussy cutting opportunities.
I used the 8x8, 12x12 and 6x6 paper pads.

Scrapmatts Packs used :

CB1078 Gears 05
CB1226 Marine Life 01
CB1083 Key Holes 02
CB5131 Bubbles 01
CB5056 Twigs
CB5162 Printer Tray 07

I hope have gained some inspiration from these projects .

Dylusions : My new Addiction

I have been trawling youtube and I think I have watched every Dyan Reaveley
video I can find. Her style of art journalling has inspired my to try.
The many different stamp sets she has are both quirky and funky and I really like them a lot and
I amy collecting them as quickly as I can.

I also have her paints and inks and they are such vibrant colours and so easy to use.
It has caused me to use a colour range I don't normally use.

I have made a few different projects on loose pages and card stock to try out the products.
Some images I have drawn as I don't have the stamp sets yet or have recently acquired them.
So there are some variations and some images are her stamps. But she has been a great inspiration to this new side to my creative journey.

I have also discovered the world of digital stamps and have purchased a couple. I think could become addicted very easily.

These are my first attempts when I purchased the dylusions paints.

Then I progressed on to to a larger project to see what having more space would lead me to create.
I was really happy with the result. The lines on the side are for me to journal on but I have not thought of what to write yet. I love the sea themed dylusions stamp sets.

This next piece is a warm coloured back ground after creating a cool coloured background
with the above page.

I bought a dylusions journal but had a disaster with it and it was not useable and I had to throw it out. I think the damp Tasmanian weather was a contributing factor. So I found and old art  book that was not used and made couple of pages in there instead.

I hope you are inspired to get some dylusions products and try them out.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
